  Lukasz Kotonski is a trainer with over 15 years of experience in document authenticity verification, identity verification, and identity theft prevention.

  He serves as Trainer and Senior Project Coordinator at the International Organization for Migration (IOM Poland), where he supports initiatives related to digital identity, documents, and biometrics in the Immigration and Border Governance Unit (IBG).

This presentation follows that chain: first, how identities are compromised and repurposed; then, how they materialise as fraudulent documents used to gain residence, employment, and other benefits in the context of migration and foreign nationals. It focuses on the trends and techniques currently observed across the full typology - counterfeits, forged (falsified) documents, fraudulently obtained genuine documents, and impostor/lookalike use - and offers concrete detection indicators and countermeasures for first-line and investigative officers.
