  Sanzhar Nurkassimov joined the design team at the National Bank of Kazakhstan in 2012, working under the guidance of chief designer Mendybai Alin. He participated in the creation of the national currency’s banknotes: the Tenge, while also studying intaglio engraving techniques at the Intaglio Engraving Academy in Urbino, Italy.

  Since 2022, Sanzhar has been the Chief Designer of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, overseeing the design and integration of security features, as well as the production of banknotes for the national currency. He is the author of the new fifth series of Tenge banknotes, known as "Saka Style", and the jubilee 10,000 Tenge note issued in 2023 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the introduction of the Tenge.

  His vision and dedication make him a valuable asset to the National Bank of Kazakhstan and an influential voice in the international currency design community.
