Len Olijar became the Director of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) in 2015, after serving as BEP’s Deputy Director for three years. He has worked at BEP for more than 30 years in positions of increasing responsibility.

The mission of BEP is to develop and produce U.S. currency, trusted worldwide. Under Len’s leadership, BEP is taking strategic action to execute a complete recapitalization, build a replacement facility in the Washington, DC area, expand the Western Currency Facility in Fort Worth, TX, redesign the nation’s currency to keep it secure and complete a transformation from quality inspection to quality assurance.

As Deputy Director, Len was responsible for overseeing all operational activities at BEP and led the establishment of a Lean Six Sigma program to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Len graduated magna cum laude from the University of Colorado in 1987. He has two daughters and resides in Northern Virginia.
