Jürg von Deschwanden is Head of the Questioned Documents Unit at the Zurich Forensic Science Institute.
Nearly 25 years ago, he graduated from the Police Academy and went on to gather experience in various police forces and several areas of law enforcement.
After working as a patrol officer, being a member of the surveillance squad, and working as a dispatcher for emergency calls, he took on a new challenge to become a certified forensic specialist.
Following several years of comprehensive crime scene work, he specialised in forensic document examination and joined the Zurich Forensic Science Institute's Questioned Documents Unit in 2012. He was appointed head of the unit five years later.
Still active in case work as a forensic document expert, Jürg also serves as an instructor and examiner for various forensic training courses, and as a consultant for several document projects.
