Alberto Torfer is an Industrial Engineer by profession. He holds a master's degree in Engineering, in Management and Manufacturing Systems, and has been involved in diverse projects at the Banco de México printing works for the past 22 years.
Appointed Printing Works Director in 2014, Alberto’s main task is to maintain banknote quality while increasing operational productivity. The biggest challenge that he and his team face is the construction and commissioning of a second printing works in Mexico.

To become a lean and agile manufacturing plant, one of the key factors is to have the quality information of the process as early as possible. This results in better and prompter decision-making, allowing for the process to be adjusted as needed in order to reduce production scrap
