Bio:
Gianluca Vitagliano joined the Carabinieri General HQ in Rome as Deputy Head Validation and Controls Service in 2021, transitioned to Analysis and Innovation Section Chief in 2023 and is currently Commander of the Carabinieri Currency Anticounterfeiting Unit.
Gianluca brings a strong academic background and extensive leadership in law enforcement and security to the table. He holds advanced degrees in Law, Security Science, and Global Strategy, with expertise in interagency coordination and international cooperation. He also led training initiatives, including a course on cryptocurrency and anti-money laundering.
His career includes key roles such as peacekeeping in Sarajevo with SFOR, Military Police Commander in Asmara with UNMEE, and National Expert on Transnational Organised Crime at the UN in New York. Domestically, Gianluca led units in Naples, Reggio Calabria, and Trapani.
