Nuno Gonçalves holds a PhD in Computer Vision from the University of Coimbra, Portugal. He began teaching at the University of Coimbra in 2000, becoming a Tenured Assistant Professor in 2008, and is a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Systems and Robotics.
Nuno’s scientific career has been mainly developed in the fields of Computer Vision and Computer Graphics. He is the author of several articles in high-impact journals and regularly lectures in international conferences.
Nuno coordinates several projects centred on technology transfer. In 2018, he joined the Portuguese Mint and Official Printing Office (INCM Lab) where he oversees innovation projects in areas such as graphical security, facial recognition, watermarking and robotics. He is the inventor of four patents.
